What inspired the idea for your novel, and how long have you had the idea?
This was actually my idea for Camp NaNo that I never finished, so probably back in March. I don’t remember what went through my mind, it was just an idea that kept bugging me.
Describe what your novel is about!
Basically, it’s about two prodigies from a school for superheros who are sent on their first mission the save the world. The problem? They hate each other.
What is your book’s aesthetic? Use words or photos or whatever you like!
What if everything wasn’t like you thought it was?
Introduce us to each of your characters!
Emma, Astrid, Raven, Harper, and Luke. Those are all the main characters I know of so far.
How do you prepare to write? (Outline, research, stocking up on chocolate, howling, etc.?)
I have a hard time with self doubt and finishing novels, but I also have a hard time sticking to a plan. So, I’m developing the story world and characters more than the plot (though I’m come up with main ideas to stay to while still being able to come up with things on my own).
What are you most looking forward to about this novel?
Probably the first day when I actually enjoy writing and the last day when I can celebrate (you guys can hold me accountable if I lose NaNoWriMo).
List 3 things about your novel’s setting.
The most of it is set in outer New York. Emma and Astrid at first attend a hidden school for superheros. It also contemporary. (That’s all I can think of)
What’s your character’s goal and who (or what) stands in the way?
Their goal is to complete their mission, but the villain (literally) tries to stop them and eventually everyone tells them to give up.
How does your protagonist change by the end of the novel?
What are your book’s themes? How do you want readers to feel when the story is over?
My themes: bullying, friendship, action, fantasy. I’m not quite sure how I want the readers to feel, but over the book I do want them to feel as if they’re part of the story.
I hope you enjoyed learning more about my NaNo novel!
