DIY Character Inspiration Journal

So, in my survey, the top 2 results for “What would you like to see more of?” were writing and DIYs. Today I have for you a way to combine both with a craft anyone can do.

Step One: Grab a journal.

It doesn’t have to be anything fancy. It can even be an old school journal.

I printed out a label and glued it to the inside.

Step Two: Create a form for your characters.

A lot of you have done this before. Create a character questionnaire on the front page. It can be as short or long as you’d like it to be. For my form, I wrote:

 Full name:

Nicknames:

Appearance:

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

Description:

Personality:

(Description being “other”, such as “Lillie lives in LA and dreams of becoming a movie star.”)

Step Three: Add characters.

Whenever you have inspiration for a character, fill out the form for him or her. Anytime you’re writing and need a character, minor or major, they are for you to pick from!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you made it, let me know and say how it turned out!

  1. Great idea! You could also fill it with random ideas for a character to have, like cool traits, or names, or hobbies!:D

Hello! Thank you for commenting, it really makes my day! Please be careful with your words and make sure they are appropriate for all ages. Also, please only leave one or two links (it will get caught in the spam folder otherwise).
