“Sinead, where is it?” Bella asked eagerly.

I thought for a moment. It had been over a year since I’d seen it. “Probably in the pocket of my old clothes.”

“It’s back at our shelter,” Asher said. “It’s unsafe.”

“Do we really need it?” I asked.

“Yes!” the three girls exclaimed in unison. We were still running farther away from the building. Ryan hadn’t talked since he spilled about the dragon shadow, and was 10 feet behind everyone.

I sighed. “I’ll go alone.”

“No, I’ll go with you,” Bella said firmly.

She was probably trying to make sure I was safe, but a nagging feeling inside me said that she didn’t trust me. It wasn’t my fault that my mother was evil! “Sure. Whatever.”

An hour later, Bella and I were at the shelter, while the others were searching for a new one.

I looked under my bed and took out the folded clothes. I nearly cried when I saw them. The were old and tattered, just like my past.

“Here it is.” I handed Bella the picture, and she examined it. “Bella, how long has it been like this?”

“Since we were young. Why?”

“When did Lilianna first come around?”

She sighed. “Same time.”

“And the skies were gray, right? No shadows?”

“No shadows. What are you getting at?” she questioned.

I took a deep breath. “Ryan said she had a dragon shadow. I didn’t tell him that. He must either have seen her a long time ago and have a really good memory, or…”

Bella finished my sentence. “He’s from another world.”

Sorry it was shorter than last time. 🙂 I hope you enjoyed reading, and look for part 9 soon!
