TIWC Challenge One: To Travel

I have my first entry for TIWC @The Girl Upstairs! Grace, I used all three prompts and mentioned my team name (and highlighted them).

Hayley was staring out the window again. “Do you ever wonder what it would be like to travel the world?”

“I’m content here.” I took a peek at the stars, then closed the curtains.

She laid down on the bed. Hayley was acting like she always did when she had a crazy idea: she never spoke, never made a sound, but the look in her eyes told me exactly what was about to happen.

“Please, don’t!” I knew I couldn’t stop Hayley when she had a plan, but it was still worth a try.

Hayley grabbed a bag and threw her numerous journals and pencils into it. “Of course I’m going to, and you’re going to come with me.”

“I can’t!”

She grabbed my wrist. “Isn’t this what you’ve been waiting for?”

I tried to shake my hand free, but Hayley’s grip was to strong. “Yes, but-”

“No buts! Come with me.”

Hayley dragged me outside. She leaned over the railing of the bridge. “Can’t you feel it? There’s so much more beyond this house!”

“Where are we going to go?” I tapped my nails on the railing of the bridge.

She sighed. “This is why you and I are so different. I don’t need a destination. We’ll just go!”

Note to my Fiction vs. Fantasy Writers: I only have one entry for the current challenge! I will accept more, but they will be given less points.
